week 2 classes we did revision on setting up and using monoblocs as well as speedlights for location and portable studio based lighting. We split off into groups and took 2 photos, one using monoblocs and one using speedlites, or a combination of both.

From experience we found that the speedlight while being highly portable and cheaper, just cant produce the amount of light need of a mono n harder to set up in terms of getting the light right, and also suffer slow recycling times. The monoblocs are bulkier and more expensive, but there good, its much easier to get the light right and recycling times are much quicker and able to produce 10x more the amount of light.
